Chocolate Donuts in the Air Fryer

My absolute favorite kitchen gadget right now is my air fryer. I want to cook everything in it! I am obsessed with my air fryer for three main reasons:

It cooks much quicker than a conventional oven.

There is very little cleanup. (The only cleanup for these donuts was throwing away some parchment paper.)

It’s the perfect size if you’re cooking for one person.

For this recipe, I used the Gourmia 5 qt digital air fryer, which I bought at Costco. Here’s a link to the fryer.

1 cup of gluten free flour

2 tsp baking powder

1/4 cup cocoa powder

1/4 cup your favorite sweetener. I used stevia powder.

8 oz plain greek yogurt



1/4 cup confectioners sugar

2 tbl cocoa powder

2 tbl almond milk

Add sprinkles or chocolate chips to the top


Preheat your air fryer to 350 degrees.

In a medium bowl, add the flour, baking powder, cocoa powder and sweetener. Whisk together until there are no bubbles left in the mixture.

Add the greek yogurt, and use your hands blend the wet and dry ingredients.

Sprinkle a piece of parchment paper with a little bit of cocoa powder and roll the dough with your hands until the dough is no longer sticky. If you need to add more cocoa powder, you can. (I had to!)

Flatten the dough before cutting into four equal squares.

Take each square and roll the dough out into a 3/4 inch tube before creating a circle to make your donut.

Place a small sheet of parchment paper into the top of the fryer, and cook two donuts at a time for 8-10 minutes in your air fryer. 

While the donuts are cooking, make your icing by combining the confectioners sugar, cocoa powder and almond milk. Whisk together.

Once the donuts have cooled, drizzle the icing over top and finish off with either sprinkles or chocolate chips.
